Friends of Daffodils A Celebration of Daffodils As we drive around the Island this June, we have Alice Fiske to thank for the many Kousa dogwoods that grace Route 114 from North to South ferries. She was president of the Garden Club when they were planted 45 years ago. In April, we enjoy the daffodils which are harbingers of Spring. To perpetuate the memory of Alice Fiske who gave so much to the Island for over 50 years, we would like to honor her by planting more daffodils on both public and private land where they can be seen and enjoyed by all. And, in April we plan to produce an opportunity for all Islanders to show off their very finest blooms. To meet our goals, everyone who wishes to participate must start now. We must order our daffodils this summer and plant the bulbs in the fall.
