The Garden Club of Shelter

PURPOSES
The purposes of the Club are to stimulate the knowledge and love of horticulture, gardening and flower arranging; to share advantages of mem¬bership by means of educational meetings, conferences, correspondence and publications; to foster the interest and participation of children in the various phases of horticulture, gardening, and flower arranging; to promote interest in wayside plantings and home gardens; to aid in the conservation of open space; to protect and enhance the natural beauty of Shelter Island, its roadsides and shorelines; and to present educational programs for the people of the community. (By-Laws Article II and Certificate of Incorporation) MEETINGS Regular business meetings will again be held at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, on the second Wednesday of the month, from April through November. Exceptions are noted in the Calendar of Events & Programs. Be sure to check the Calendar of Events & Programs for field trips, open meetings, workshops and special events. Remember to bring your own bag lunch to the meetings. Members are encouraged to attend Federated Garden Club meetings, which are incorporated in our Calendar of Events & Programs. Contact a Board member for carpooling information. The Board meets at St. Mary’s Parish Hall at 9:30 on the second Wednesday of each month, from April through November. Exceptions are noted in the Calendar of Events & Programs. |
